«natural and honest»,
also for our raw materials
With a strict, self-imposed raw materials charter, we want to give our customers the certainty that we manufacture our HUG, DAR-VIDA and Wernli products from the most natural raw materials possible. The charter regulates the use of raw materials for the market assortment in the retail trade and gastronomy in the form of a guideline.
Our Charter of Raw Ingredients
We manufacture our products with raw materials that are as natural as possible. We also attach importance to fair and sustainable cultivation and trade practices.
Eggs
Only free range eggs are used in our productions.
Cocoa
We have been buying only Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa in the mass balance model.
Hazelnuts
We only source Rainforest Alliance certified hazelnuts.
Palm Oil
If palm oil, then only from sustainable cultivation. Since 2016, we have only purchased 100 percent certified palm oil in the RSPO Segregated standard.
A minimum of additives
We limit additives to the absolute minimum necessary.
No preservatives
Preservatives trigger intolerance reactions in consumers - reason enough for us to refrain from using such substances.
Raw materials without the use of genetically modified plants
Products from genetically modified plants are not accepted by consumers. Therefore, we do not use any ingredients or additives made from genetically modified plants in our products.
Natural ingredients, for consumer safety and even greater pleasure
The HUG Family promise «natural and honest» includes the conscious and transparent use of the most natural possible raw materials, obtained by fair trade practices. This is how the HUG Family commits to high safety towards its consumers and trading partners.
