We use effective barrier layers

Lubricating oils and oil-based printing inks are still used in newspaper printing today. These substances find their way from the newspapers into the wastepaper, which is then recycled and ultimately processed into food packaging. It has been shown that mineral oils can migrate from cardboard into food. Some of these substances are suspected of being carcinogenic.

Based on this knowledge, we decided years ago to integrate barrier layers into the packaging films that come into direct contact with our products. This protects the products from substances that may pose a health risk.

All inner bags of our Wernli packs are therefore equipped with a barrier layer. All packaging films in the DAR-VIDA range, the HUG packets, the new HUG KnusperPur packs and the HUG Tartelettes are also provided with this safety layer.
