Monofoil: Packaging that thinks about the future

The new product packaging in the Wernli range — Crisp cookies mixed, gingerbread pastries, Christmas cookies, etc. — takes the next step toward sustainability: it is made of mono-film, a material that, unlike the previous solution, is theoretically recyclable. “Theoretically” means that Switzerland now needs a nationwide plastic collection system, such as that offered by RecyPac, and consumers who also make use of this recycling option.

At the same time, the film is thinner and the bag is therefore lighter than before. Less material, less weight – a small difference that can make a big difference overall.

This is how we combine quality and product protection with responsibility for tomorrow.

By way of comparison, the previous packaging consisted of a plastic composite with textured coating. This material was not recyclable, but its look and feel gave that impression. By switching to mono-film, we are creating greater transparency and taking a real step towards a more environmentally friendly future.
