Organic raw cane sugar

Organic raw cane sugar for more biodiversity

Cane sugar is obtained from sugar cane. The raw cane sugar is not completely filtered and some components, especially the colouring substances that cause the sugar to turn brown, remain. In addition, very small amounts of minerals, trace elements, proteins and fats remain in the sugar as a result.

From a sensory point of view, raw cane sugar is characterised by a special caramel note. We deliberately use this for our Wernli Choco Petit Beurre range, but also for the HUG Amandes and Schocos.

The cultivation of raw cane sugar raises social and ecological challenges. For this reason, we have been sourcing exclusively organic raw sugar cane since the end of 2022.
